UPSC Anthropology PYQ Bank

A Strategic Approach to PYQs

Topic-Wise Previous Year Questions

Knowing the syllabus is the first step; understanding the examiner’s mind is the second. Most PYQ compilations present questions chronologically, which is useful for mock tests but poor for strategic analysis.

This PYQ Bank is built on a different philosophy: practice by topic, not just by year.

By compiling every question ever asked on a specific topic—like “Marriage” or “Human Evolution”—into one place, you can instantly:

  • Identify high-yield, recurring themes.
  • See the evolution of questions and how the examiner’s focus has shifted.
  • Understand the depth required for each subtopic.
  • Practice a single topic in its entirety, solidifying your understanding.

This page serves as the single, master document. It is designed to feel like one comprehensive file, pulling in the question lists from all the individual topic posts.

This is a massive compilation effort. While I have strived for accuracy in sorting and transcribing, some errors may persist. This is a living document, and I appreciate your patience as we build and refine it together.
